Membership Information
Becoming A Member
The Mohican Swimming Pool Association is a non-profit
organization operating a swimming pool for the exclusive use of its members and
their guests. Applicants for membership must reside in the pool's area, which
is encompassed by the Capital Crescent Trail, the Potomac River,
The current cost of a membership is $2200.00 (plus a
$50.00 transfer fee). A membership may be returned to the Association at any
time for the prevailing rate at the time. It may also be transferred to an
adult descendant living within the boundaries, or to the new owner of the
member's house at the time of sale.
Currently there is a waiting list of people wishing to
buy a membership that runs several years. Memberships are offered to those on
the list, in order of their position on the list. Summer rentals are offered
first to the members of the waiting list, in numerical order. When a membership
is offered to you, if you decline, you may re-apply to the current waiting list
by paying the re-application fee (currently $20.00).
Summer Rentals
Summer rentals at Mohican Pool become available as a member
elects not to use his membership. Rentals are offered first to families on the
waiting list to buy a membership, then to a secondary list consisting of people
outside the boundaries, or those whom do not wish to buy a membership, but are
within the boundaries. The rental fees for both groups are the same. The rental
fees for the summer of 2008 begin at $545.00 for two people (subject to
change). If you wish to apply for a
summer rental please fill out either the Waiting
List Application or the Summer Renter ONLY Application. You need
only fill it out once. You will remain on the list as long as you continue to
rent or ask us to keep you on the list each year if you choose not to rent for
a summer. Offers to rent for the summer,
with the current rental fees, are mailed in March, April and May of each year
as our members decline the use of the pool and we have slots available.

Projects & Committees
Social Activities Committee- The Social Activities Committee
plans and carries out the social functions of the pool such as adult nights,
raft nights, youth nights, Fourth of July events, and for any other special
occasions.
Grounds Committee The Grounds Committee is responsible for the installation of capital improvements and the maintenance of the grounds around the pool.
Financial Committee The Finance Committee prepares the annual
budget the approval of the Association.
Safety Committee The
Safety Committee is responsible for promoting and advising on all matters
regarding the safety of staff, members, guests, renters and visitors
Team Activities The Team Activities is responsible for budgeting and planning for the activities and meets of the Swim Team and Dive Team of Mohican Pool.
Pool Committee
The
Pool Committee attends to the maintenance of the pool, other facilities, and
operating equipment. It prepares and oversees rules and regulation of health
and good conduct for the pool. It also supervises the activities of the pool
staff.
